Why Join SWARG?
SWARG was formed in 1975 to provide an organization through which individuals involved in recreation and leisure support services could meet. The focus of the Guild is to provide opportunities for the professional and personal growth and networking of recreation & health providers in South West Ontario.
What Has Been Accomplished:
Awarded over 15 bursaries, providing financial assistance to students from Southwestern Ontario in their education in the recreation field.
Provided professional development opportunities through workshops, including topics on Innovative Youth Programming, Volunteer Screening, and Risk Management
Leading the Southwestern Ontario in motion health promotion strategy
Involvement in initiatives such Rails to Trails, Active 2010, Sexual Harassment in Sport Forum, and World Record Walk 2007
